Meet Our Staff

Ms. Kera

Ms. Kera is a recent Montana transplant. She grew up in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest which she attributes to her love of being outside and exploring the world we live in. From sunrise hiking to sunset paddleboarding, the joys of seed starting to the reward of harvesting, sharing nourishing meals to meaningful conversation around a campfire; she enjoys the daily adventures that are presented by living intentionally with the seasons and just simply soaking up this gift of life! She has 7+ years of experience working at a handful of farms, forest schools and outdoor-immersion programs, along with teaching in traditional elementary classrooms. She is looking forward to working with Ms. Sonya to lead students in faith-filled wonder this summer; exploring God’s creation together and our role within it!

Ms. Sonya

Ms. Sonya is the youngest daughter of the Mulder family (the owners of the Old Town Farm). They’ve taught her all about the importance of knowing where our food comes from, eating healthy, loving God, and providing for the people in our communities. With their help, she and Ms. Kera are heading up the Old Town Farm Camp, and she is so excited! She’s also a college student at the University of Montana Western and hopes to eventually teach in a rural setting, working with kids to spark their curiosity, helping to build lifelong skills, positively impacting the world around her through the people she interacts with. She has a deep passion for learning, especially about nature. You’ll often find her spouting random facts about a new bird she learned about or really anything else. She is so excited to give these kids this unique opportunity so they too can satisfy their own curiosity and create lasting memories while experiencing the beautiful natural world we live in!

  • Our instructors are first aid/CPR trained prior to the start of camp. We will also be maintaining a small group ratio of 1:7 for teachers to students during all camp weeks.

Since the camp is outdoors, there are hazards inherent to attending. These can include but are not limited heat and sun exposure, insect stings, trip hazards, and exposure to livestock.

Let us know ahead of time if your child has any allergies or safety concerns.

    • Yes! We have intentionally created a structure that allows siblings to stay together during camp weeks. This is also why we limited our age range of participants to 5-11 years old. The two age groups (5-7 and 8-11) are simply for registration purposes to keep a desired ratio of younger and older kids within each session.

  • Participants need to be a minimum of age 5 prior to the start of their camp week.

At this time, we are not accepting students older than 11. There may be an opportunity for their participation in the future!

  • Yes, there will be a porta potty on site for participants and parents to use if needed. Children need to be FULLY potty trained and able to go to the bathroom without assistance.

  • Parents are welcome to hang out on the deck with easy viewing. We do ask that you respect the instructors and do not interfere with activities, but you are welcome to hang around! There are plenty of delicious snacks and other items available for purchase in our Farm Shop if you’d like something to eat!

  • We kindly ask that you do not drop off before 9am and that you pick up your child promptly at 2:30pm. If you should arrive early, please stay with your children until the start time so that our teachers can fully prepare for the day.

  • Before arriving, apply sunscreen, wear weather appropriate clothing in layers, and wear closed-toed shoes.

Pack a backpack with the following items labelled with their name: a water bottle, a lunch and any snacks they may need, a hat, a change of clothes, extra socks, a packable raincoat in the event of rain or unexpected weather, sunscreen and insect repellent, and travel-size hand sanitizer.

  • Please contact us at OTFarmCamp@gmail.com, we would be happy to help answer any other questions or concerns you have about the kids’ program!
